As you know, part of our AWAKENINGS’ mission has been to assist other groups that share our commitment to win people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Two organizations we have worked closely with are Samaritan’s Purse, led by my friend Franklin Graham, and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, headed by his father. (You may remember that, before launching AWAKENINGS, I served on staff with both groups.)

Franklin has served on his father’s Board of Directors for many years and, this past fall, was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He assumed this position while continuing as President of Samaritan’s Purse. As you can imagine, this has considerably expanded his responsibilities .

In view of these developments, Franklin has asked me to rejoin the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association as Special Assistant to him in his role as CEO. After prayerful consideration, Glenda and I have accepted his invitation, effective immediately. Because I will be serving as his personal representative and liaison at the organization’s Minneapolis headquarters, we have also begun taking steps to relocate our family there in the next few weeks .

While this change of assignment in the work of Christ’s Kingdom is not one we sought, it is one that we are absolutely convinced God has called us to embrace (we just never quite imagined that “assisting other groups” would take this form!) While we are doing so in faith and great anticipation, we feel keenly our need for your continuing prayers. 

Your prayers and financial support for AWAKENINGS have born much fruit – I can hardly believe we began this venture some 13 years ago – and we are deeply grateful for all your friendship and encouragement to us personally. Only God can repay you for the kindness and love you have shown in His name. 

In the weeks ahead AWAKENINGS’ operations will cease. Plans are being finalized to entrust the non-profit, tax-exempt structure of the corporation to another ministry, which will utilize it to continue lifting up Christ under another name. We will not be giving your name to anyone else for use in any solicitation. All contributions you have made to AWAKENINGS this year are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. 

Thank you for being partners with us in the glorious work of the Gospel. Never has the need been greater for all who know Him to share the Good News. Please pray for us as we seek to do so even more effectively than ever. God bless you and…
