Job Requirements:
The B/G Club Unit Director of the unit will perform the essential functions as
listed.
To assist the BGC Exec. Dir. with the Boys & Girls Club of Davidson County
Thomasville unit) by:
- Directing the B/G Club operations.
- Administer and develop day-to-day operations thereof.
- Recruits/supervises volunteers as needed.
- Develops contacts in the community that can help our programs.
- Supervises staff/employees of the Thomasville programs.
- Performing duties in absence of staff/employees.
- Maintains 50 members on a daily basis.
- Maintains 100 registered members or more on a yearly basis.
- Visits schools to monitor club members
- Plans monthly parent meetings to discuss and plan fundraising opportunities,

is United Way Black out period. Can do fundraiser on Everybody’s day and
Barbecue Festival.
- Plans community service projects once a month.
- Plans summer day camp.
- Plans the after school schedule with 6 core program areas (Spiritual,
Character and Leadership Development, Education & Career, Health & Life Skills,
Sports, Fitness and Recreation and the Arts.)
- Informs the Executive Director of maintenance problems at the club and with
the vehicles.
- All other assigned duties
- Must be willing to get there CDL Passenger license in the first 90 days of
employment
- Must have or be willing to get first aid and CPR in the first 90 days of
employment.

Mocks United Methodist Church seeks a part time Director of Music Ministries.
The right candidate will feel called to lead others in experiencing worship
through music – traditional, contemporary, modern worship, more. Leadership
includes directing the choir, worship band, and overseeing other music groups.

Ministry Overview
- The Director of Music Ministries will have a strong commitment to Jesus Christ
and a personal worship life while developing a music ministry that enhances the
worship of God and the whole ministry of the church.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan, and lead the musical aspects for 8:30am & 11:00am worship on
Sundays and special music/worship events including worship band performances.
- Select music for worship services under the guidance and direction of the
pastor.
- Draw others (from inside/outside the church) into the music ministry. Equip
them and offer opportunities for their ministry in worship (soloists,
instrumentalists, etc.).
- Lead rehearsals with music teams (choir currently practices on Wednesday
evening and worship band).
- Participate in monthly Worship Team meetings.
- Attend Church Council meetings as needed.
- Oversee all music ministries with children, youth, adults and worship band.
- Provide/encourage spiritual nurture for persons in the music ministry through
a small group concept.
- Participation in weddings & funerals is NOT included in the Director of Music
Ministries salary and is optional on a case-by-case basis. Couples often ask the
church for help finding musicians. If you agree to work with a wedding/funeral,
music for these services is to be coordinated with the pastor. Fees are a
responsibility of the family involved.
- Maintain a list of directors/musicians who can fill in during absences. Secure
your own substitute for absences.
- Development and implementation of annual goals.
- Managing music budgeted expenses.
- Supervise other worship leaders and planning with church musicians.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proficiency in directing musical groups of various sizes and abilities & in
playing a musical instrument or voice.
- Familiarity with contemporary worship music as well as traditional.
Terms of Employment
- The Staff-Parish Relations Team hires all church staff.
- 10-12 hours per week (seasonal needs may require more/less; as music
ministries grow, hours & pay may be adjusted).
- Two weeks paid vacation and up to three additional unpaid absences allowed
annually. (The Director of Music Ministries will be present for major church
holidays; i.e. Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week event(s), Easter,
Thanksgiving Eve and Vacation Bible School ).
- Provide 2 weeks written notice of scheduled absences to pastor and
Staff-Parish Relations Team.
- Evaluation by pastor and/or Staff-Parish Relations Team after 3 months and
then annually in the fall of the year.
- Resignation requires at least 30 days written notice from Director of Music
Ministries to Staff-Parish Relations Team.
- Termination requires at least 30 days written notice from the Staff-Parish
Relations Team to the Director of Music Ministries.
- Salary is paid monthly on the 1st of the following month.
- Salary is set annually by the Church Council upon recommendation of the
Staff-Parish Relations Team.
Support for the Director of Music Ministries
- The pastor is immediate supervisor for the Director of Music Ministries.
- The Staff-Parish Relations Team offers support for all staff and church
leaders.
